As one of North America’s largest lakes, Lake Michigan has always been a place of meeting. Since just before the war, creatures of many kinds have come to populate the lakes. Nixies and merfolk swim in the shallows while larger, darker entities inhabit the lake’s deeper center. There has been talk of a portal at the bottom of the lake, but nobody’s been able to confirm it. The only expedition that tried lost all five divers to whatever lies at the water’s muddy bottom, and their questions remain unanswered.
